MGF Brakes Question.mgmad please?

Hi all

I am going to be replacing the front brake pads on my Mk1 VVC soon. What is the best brand/type/place to buy from etc.I will fit myself.

My initial thought was to get genuine, but is that necessarily the way to go!The car only gets used "on Sundays" and isn't pushed hard so race pads are not needed.

all thoughts appreciated.

Cheers

Try Race Brakes - Lyall Zohs (somewhere around New North Rd I think).

He or his staff will give you solid advice - doesn't have to be a competition set up to get good advice.I got a set of 'green' disc pads for my MGB from them.

OE are not a bad pad, but I prefer to use kevlar based pads, partly cos they have less dust. EBC Greenstuff are a good compound for road use, just make sure you bed them in properly for 200 or so km.
