| #2 | Good little applicance cars.Go for ages, cheap to run, good resale value once you're done with them. | Driver_kcf Feb 20, 2012, 9:55 am |
| #3 | Short version--GREAT little carfantastic rep for reliability and low maintainence costs. You can't go wrong long term owning one. A specific comment. I suspect that the price is fixed at $10500 and there are an extra $300 ORC on top. Long version-If you know nothing about cars and aren't good with servicing etc then a vitz is perfect. There are no generic faults in these. I do feel for your purposes there is better bang for buck to be hadspecifically the Mazda Demio but again you won't go wrong with a vitz | Driver_kazbanz Feb 20, 2012, 9:56 am |
| #4 | Like Kaz said, the real price is $10,800 but I think that's still pretty reasonable for a dealer. | Driver_rob_man Feb 20, 2012, 9:59 am |
| #5 | Love the comments here.and ready to buy one.but now hear via someone that I should steer clear due to the possibility of IF something happens to the CVT transmission it's basically impossible to get fixed as Toyota don't have the parts! This apparently came via an AutoTransmission mechanic in town to a car sales guy. So, any comments on NEXT best car to buy! | Driver_serious6 Feb 21, 2012, 4:37 pm |
| #6 | serious--DO WHAT! - | Driver_kazbanz Feb 21, 2012, 4:42 pm |
| #7 | serious--DO WHAT! - Its a 1300cc Vitz Unless the new model has changed a lot from the old one its a normal auto (non CVT gearbox) Secondly--I have sold a LOT of toyota Funcargos/sientas with Toyota CVT in them NOT ONE has ever come back with a gearbox issue and my autosure rep hasn't said a word about this | Driver_kazbanz Feb 21, 2012, 4:42 pm |
| #8 | where is the Jazz! | Driver_jsbike Feb 21, 2012, 4:45 pm |
| #9 | serious--but again I go back to my first suggestion--Mazda Demio | Driver_kazbanz Feb 21, 2012, 5:06 pm |
| #10 | As far as I know it does not have a CVT transmission which is probably why Toyota don't have the parts. | Driver_ringo2 Feb 21, 2012, 5:12 pm |
| #11 | It is the transmission on the 2005 - models, not earlier ones. | Driver_serious6 Feb 21, 2012, 6:23 pm |
| #12 | Kazbanz - I have started to look at Demios.I hate the shape of their backsides though!I found this on trademe, but it seems awfully cheap! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx!id=450693290 It's in Auckland, so wondered if i should test drive in local town, then just buy now.But.is it too cheap to be true! | Driver_serious6 Feb 21, 2012, 6:25 pm |
| #13 | This is such a good thread as I'm shortly looking for a new runabout for me, will keep an eye on these models. Also, what do people think of the suzuki splash as there seem to be alot of those around! | Driver_mrs_medusa Feb 21, 2012, 9:27 pm |
| #14 | Those demios are bloody good little cars. Look better than the vitz but my only worry is they wont hold there value as much as a vitz (due to toyota badge) Still at that price you cant go wrong. | Driver_jason18 Feb 21, 2012, 9:40 pm |
