Usually they are next to the steering column on the dash on right hand side.Or next to the speedo. They are in either one of those locations onAccords,so wouldn't think the Ascots would be much different.

There isn't one! Not that I've ever been able to find.

Try on the end of the Indicator.

Probably doesn't have a dimmer - none of my Japanese import vehicles have had one.

Here y'go - see if you can find it in here:
http://www.psytronix.org/honda/manuals/Honda_Accord_89-91_ServiceManual.pdf

Try page 16-159 - it shows the dimmer circuit as being an option!

Is it an Ascot saloon or is it an Ascot Innova!

The pages in that manual are not all in the right order!
Try page 16-112 which is Adobe page 877
and 16-159 which is Adobe page 925

Hi, Had the same problem, ended up removing the central dash bit, found some of the bulbs blown and then the rest covered in lots of dust.Replaced the bulbs at repco, cleaned the rest, then reassembled.Helped a lot.

That makes sense. I've not noticed any particular problem with mine.
The circuit diagram in my workshop manual shows a 'dimmer unit' as part of the instrument cluster with no external control connection, so if there is a control it is part of the instrument cluster itself!
Or maybe, come to think of it, the 'dimmer unit' is only there to dim the auto transmission tell-tale LEDs when the lights are turned on!
