Mitsubishi Miage RS HOW MUCH?

zozo90, Aug 23, 8:54am
I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage RS (4G92-MIVEC DOHC 16 Valve). Was wanting to sell as I'm looking to get a bigger car. Good condition no dents or any thing like that. Done 140,000kms, regularly serviced every 40,000kms with wheel alignments. Brand new WOF through VTNZ and new reg till March 13. Pioneer stereo, with all the standard Mitsubishi racing gauges and racing pedals, car is all stock standard. How much could I put this on Trade me for!

Due for it's next - and fourth - service in 20,000km.
Just like some of these new euro-boxes, except this onemade it 60,000 km past warranty expiry.

Go find another 98 Mirage RS with 140km for $3k then. This is not the same model as Nana's 1300cc Mirage. This is the equivalent to a Civic Type R.

I say have a $4750 start=reserve and a $5500 buy now. It may create a flurry of interest and someone could panic and hit the buy now.
PS: Are you sure you service it only every 40,000kms! Not even an oil change every 5,000-10,000kms!

edangus, Aug 23, 11:58pm
But serviced every 40,000KM!

kcf, Aug 24, 12:09am
Clearly it hasn't been serviced every 40k, because otherwise it wouldn't be alive still.

I'd say $4500 would get you a fast sale, and you might even get $5300-$5500 depending on how tidy it looks in the photos.

Maybe they mean taken to Mitsubishi every 40,000kms for a full check up and other fluids/items being replaced. Surely no one would leave their oil changes 40,000kms apart. The fact that it's a MIVEC engine would ensure that the MIVEC wouldn't even engage if the oil gets just a little bit low or too sludgey.

You would certainly hope its not been done every 40,000. Then again some people just never take care of their cars in an appropriate fashion.
