Cert question

Do I have to clean all the under seal stuff from the inside and under the car when installing a drive shaft loop? Also, can I use washers to pack between the loop and the floor to compensate for the ridges etc?

PS Just waiting to hear back from the lvv cert man.

Has to be right size and thickness, 4 bolts holding it on, use washers and spring washers with thread remaining outside the nuts. Can be on top of underseal as long as it's solidly mounted. Use steel plate if ridges are wide or bolt flat plate to floor and loop to plate

50x5mm minimum with 4X8mm bolts minimum.(2 each side) you dont have to clean off the underseal

I fitted one on my sons car a couple years ago and was lucky enough to mount the loop to the gearbox crossmember using 2 pieces of 30x30x5 angle iron. It passed cert fine . We used 4 x 10mm bolts and welded nuts to the inside of the angle iron.
