Don't spose anyone just happens to have one lying about needing a new home?

Sounds like a job for a 3D printer.

gunhand, Aug 29, 9:52am
How would you load the info with out the badge? Or can you scan a pic or something.

tony9, Aug 29, 10:10am
If someone has already made one, they would have the data file. Worth asking in relevant forums.

If you can borrow one then there are 3 D scanners which can generate the code. And you can start with a picture.

Have a search for 3d printing and scanning +nz. Here is one https://www.3dhubs.com/how-to-3d-print

give someone like Ajays a call

Jog the memory gun.

What's it off?

I'm thinking Holden, but not convinced?

We have a bin full of allsorts, dating back to the 60's.
If I was real keen/stupid, it would be a good idea to make an inventory.

Was scratching through there only yesterday looking for a Toyota emblem, and found a few surprises - Ranger - Tasman - Austin Cooper!

gunhand, Aug 30, 2:22am
I really don't like saying whats in the shop or discussing customers cars but sometimes when ya after a tricky bit. I hoped those who know would know what it was. I'm surprised someone hasn't. You were almost right on first guess but think 67 opposition, also from Aussie. lol.

seadubya, Aug 30, 2:32am
All the stuff I looked at has different badges on the US Cruis-O-Matic stuff, sounds like a tricky part to find, even on the au specialist forums. A rare car with extremely rare chrome. (Honda have a two wheeled dirt version?)

gunhand, Aug 30, 2:36am
Yea, i'd imagine there not thick on the ground. But somewhere sitting quietly there will be one. Trouble is the owner won't know of it's significance to anyone. And if they don't wont part with it lol.

seadubya, Aug 30, 2:48am
Horopito? I'll ask a neighbour tomorrow, he is due in and has a few Fords with extras.

gunhand, Aug 30, 2:53am
Yes, they are on the list to contact. Just started this wee search on Friday.
And thanks for asking too.

kevymtnz, Aug 30, 3:09am
if you are talking about the ford o matic that car was only made for a short time
if they made a badge i would not be sure but are plenty of old v8 badges
as they quickly renamed all cars automatic

lookoutas, Aug 30, 4:41am
Have you broken one gun, and don't want the m'owner to know?

So it's off an XR

gunhand, Aug 30, 5:18am
Na nothin like that. Just holes that need filling with correct badge. Yep XR fairmont.

seadubya, Aug 31, 4:53am
I checked with the neighbour and had a quick squizz in his pile of spares, 67 is too new for his collection of Ford bits. Will keep an eye out on my travels though. Is this the badge you are after? That's what I was looking for anyway http://farm9.static.flickr.com/8479/8283246774_5b8effc314.jpg

gunhand, Aug 31, 5:06am
Yep that would be it. I tried lookin for a pic myself but all were blury lol.
Thanks for your help. Ive sent a few emails away so ya never know.

lookoutas, Sep 5, 9:42am
"You know what I would do there gun, if you draw blanks but still really want one?"

There's enough in that photo to work out some dimensions, then find a machinist who can mill some stainless to that shape, and get a signwriter to make up the centre piece.
Attach it with double sided tape.

gunhand, Sep 5, 9:54am
Well oddly enough Ive been thinking just like that. Find a similar badge and use it as base, smooth it up or whatever then get a sign writer to do letters as you said. But yea good idea that.
Ive checked ebays Aus and US and nothin. Sent a few emails and not much luck.
I dont think there are any new ones and finding a second hand one might be push too.

lookoutas, Sep 5, 10:16am
My eyecrometre puts the dimensions at about 1" x 4" & maybe a bit.
Suppose there might be a badge in existence within a bulls-roar.

gunhand, Sep 5, 10:19am
Yea theres a few close ones about. Badges "like" that used to be a dime a dozen once lol.

gunhand, Sep 5, 10:26am
Yep i'd think about that. Theres a Falcon 500 one too thats similar.
I will be eyeing them up from now on.

poppy62, Sep 5, 9:07pm
Hey Gun! have you tried Rare Spares. Oz specialists. here in NZ and OZ.

seadubya, Sep 6, 5:04am
I've got a Falcon 500 one if you want it.

gunhand, Sep 6, 5:19am
Yep done the logical ones. No doubt a wrecker will have one but where would one start.
