Jesus.

(The new Aston Martin radiator intake looks much better on the racing Falcons than it does on the road-going models. At least a V8 Coon has an engine that almost lives up to the Aston Martin front end. the new Mondeos and Fiestas with Aston Martin radiators just take the mickey IMO. )

One touch of the wall and you are then just a passenger!

Spectacular! I hope he will be OK.

He will be by all accounts after his Femur and wrist heal their breaks.

Apparently the marshals didn't escape unharmed either.
Thoughts are with the whole community at this difficult time.

Even a modern strong race car with full cage, harness belts and neck restraints isn't 100% protection. Motor sport is dangerous and has always been. But 30 or 40 years ago we'd be saying a sad goodbye to another racer with a crash like that, and probably a couple of marshals.

Echo quickbuck's thoughts.

Aren't they clever buggers who engineer and build those things. I remember the Fabian Coulthard crash in the chase in 2010 I think it was? That huge accident, and he got out and walked away. You'd be mighty satisfied if you were the bloke who welded that cage up. Same with this one today.

Carlos Sainz crash in F1 qualifying looked worse hard impact with armco yet walked away & no injuries . F1 has come a long way in saftey .
