That's a coupe with a flat rear, not very useful, look how small the back is

PS does look cool tho

Well it will appeal to some, the tailgate extends the deck, very useful.

Niche market . there to be exploited.
Could be interesting to see what car maker will fill the "ute" void when Holden/Ford depart the Australian motor manufacturing scene in 2-3 years time.

Highanddry definitely needs a ute, but not that thing! Its a sandpit toy.

The Australians told Hyundai years ago to build them utes, double cab etc
I would guess in Hyundai's back shed there are amaroks, rangers, d-max, colorado, hilux, triton, navaras etc that have been pulled apart and studied, run around the testing grounds at night etc.

Sorta like a modernised Subaru Brumby

It's a toy, even by their own admission.

"To meet the specific needs of these potential customers, the Santa Cruz concept doesn't focus on all the same attributes as traditional pickups, he adds. It's designed to meet more of the urban adventurer desire for expression, efficiency and manoeuvrability."

Sooooo, what they/you are saying is that it will used for what most of these modern utes seem to be used for. urban shopping trips to the warehouse?
Fit right in then won't it.
