Nissan Narvara Knocking Noise.

7up, Oct 1, 5:54am
No hate please not a car person, the narvara has a knocking noise coming from what sounds like the right rear side, it only seems to make the sound when reversing and making a turn, it went away after we got the wheel alignment done but was back within a week, any ideas what it could be?
Please say if you need more info,

first thing is which model, there is D21, D22, D40, D23.
if in doubt what year?

some are prone to wearing the rear spring bushes. also body mounts are a known source of knocking noise.
also the diff. has it had an oil change and did they use LSD (limited slip diff) oil? if not it causes clunking knocking noise which you can hear if you do a tight turn particularly in reverse.

Is this noise only happening when the steering is hard over to one side?

its an 2004 nissan narvara ventura if that helps?
i am sure that rear spring bushes were replaced in january,
the dealership we got it from does all the servicing etc when its due, so not sure about oil,
And yes when steering is over to one side it happens, not necessarily hard to one side tho, when reversing out of carparks it will usually make the noise

trailing arm bushes

unfortunately no trailing arms in the rear of those.

but it may pay to have someone outside the ute to check where the noise is coming from in case your miss-hearing it.

It's more than likely the torsion bars (for the front suspension) anchors creaking/knocking . It's common and usual for this happening. Nothing to worry about.
