OK here is what i am after but i do not know where to get it or what it is called.
You know when you remove the door penal there is usually a plastic covering the door to stop moister and dust entering the cars interior.
What i would like to know what is the sticky goop called that stays tacky and can be pulled off? and where do you get plastic from to remake new seal? i found the hiace even had a plastic just like old vw
but where i do need it and i assume its this goop also
on mk4 golf door panels they got a seal or goop where do i get the seal or goop from,?

ok and the plastic used ?

also for anyone in to panel beating i am not a subscriber to abrn but i look quickly there and walked thru the hall at automechanika frankfurt last year of panel and paint and crash repair mesurment machines and all , that sort of stuff is not my prime interest but abrn magazin would be what you as penal guys might be interested in , i am in to diagnostics of things you cant do it all. especially them new cars with extra tempered components welded on-to non temperd special molded honey comb like structures and all the goop holding car panels on modern cars. Here is a link to a the panel and paint latest hightech stuff i guess be coverd in there.

What you're on about is commonly called Dab-Off - ideal for sealing door plastic in place. Or it could be listed as Removable Sealer.

Go to Para Rubber for plastic sheeting. Even gardening plastic will do.
Not a bad idea to go for some with more guts that the original.

If ya can't get any Dab-Off, that original windscreen sealer is OK. It just goes hard after a while. Not a problem if you don't plan to be the one taking it off somewhere down the line.

I agree re the wurth product. If you can use "nice" in the same sentence as that chewing gum type stuff then its the nicest out there.
