Stone chipped paint and rust

rak1, Oct 10, 11:54pm
We have some chipped paint on the roof of our car most likely caused by stones. There have been small deposits of rust forming where the chips are, so to slow things down I purchased a touch up bottle of paint matched to the car. However, after only a couple of weeks, the rust is coming back. Can anyone recommend a rust killer that might do the job. Some, like the wattyl rust killer, say not to top coat with lacquer paints. Any ideas appreciated.

Any Automotive or Hardware store will have rust killer. You dont need to buy litres of the stuff just a small 100ml-200ml bottle will be suffice.

be awear you have to kill convert the rust some products cant be overpainted some need washing off again. so make sure you get a good product for the purpose you need it.
also if the rust comes from inside then you wont stop it untill you treat the inside whom will be 5 times larger area then what is outside, You mentioned stone chip so hopefully you diagnosed that correctly and its not from inside the rust forming
