Hi, my drivers side door lock barrel getting loose inside the barrel itself. Key at times baulks against something, then turns, Simple question is: are passenger and front lock barrels interchangeable. Only me and my dogs (in the tray) so the drivers lock is only one used. Thanks.

Yes they are. You might need to flip the lever on the inside, but you'll know when you get them out.

On some vehicles you can take out the glovebox lock cylinder and swap it over to the door.

Why dont you modernise your ute slightly, fit a remote central locking unit, then you wont need to use keys. Ive just fitted a unit to my old Corolla SR coupe , so easy to fit and much much better than using the key to lock and unlock. I bought a kit from Supercheap for $68. Great value.

Good idea andy. You can buy them for a 2 door, which are obviously cheaper than a 4 door as they only need 2 actuators and less wiring. Jaycar has them as well. Just remember to get the remote model.
