not bad for a v8 twin turbogo campo !

morrisman1, Sep 10, 4:53pm
my rotor could do that, just need to get some tricky valve springs to handle the revs

marmatt, Sep 10, 4:57pm
hahahahaa not

mrfxit, Sep 11, 5:39am
Presume the valve springs are replacing the original rubber band

spacies_nz, Sep 11, 10:59am
and campo is.! Link!

1ollie, Sep 14, 12:13pm
LOL what.! 10,000cc+ & 2 turbos and only a 5.9! the imports are doing 6.4 with only 3400cc and 1 turbo

foxdonut, Sep 14, 12:20pm
You mean the Holdens that are imported from Australia or the Fiats that are imported from Italy!

Half a second slower is a lifetime when the ET's are getting that fast.

That 5.95 run wasn't very straight either.

xraps, Sep 14, 4:44pm
The thing is, for every dollar spent making horsepower another is spent getting it to the ground. At this level of performance every detail becomes a science. These guys could spend another hundred grand (give or take) just to get a half second faster.

The law of diminishing returns.

fordkiwi27, Sep 14, 5:52pm
such a twot ollie

rocker_553, Sep 14, 7:23pm
I used to be a competitive swimmer, and when it gets down to it, that .05 of a second in beating your opponent all comes down to training that much more and putting in that much more effort. It doesn't matter who has what under their car, they're still faster, and at that speed it could be a million miles away from the other car!

guider1, Sep 14, 9:58pm
Mike Moran has run many high 5's with his twin turbo 572. over 100 passes without having to replace ANY internal parts including bearings. not even a teardown. Rayglass Celica cant make 4 runs without destroying an engine.
Yep. those turbo's Jappas are really incredible ollie. lol.

Sorry, but there still is no substitute for cubes whether it's n/a, supercharged, nitrous or turbo'd.
There's no small Jappas in any Group A field anywhere in the world: Top Alcohol, Funnycar, Promod or Prostock. the reason being is they simply cant hack the pace & are'nt reliable enough when pushed hard.

guider1, Sep 14, 10:06pm
I cant watch the links due to poxy dialup, but i'm assuming you're talking about Rob Campesi in the Mustang from Oz!
Pity it doesnt qualify for any field over there due to it's lightweight construction. We'll see what it runs when he finally has to put the weight into the car to comply with ANDRA rules.

1ollie, Sep 14, 10:52pm
Think your confused! Holdens arent really anything and whats a Bambina got to do with this!

1ollie, Sep 14, 10:53pm
Thats a movie. Think you pasted the wrong link lol

1ollie, Sep 14, 10:57pm
Ahhh the insight of a reader of Street Machine and/or NZV8 or similar type media lol aka a dumb arse meathead.
Your still stuck in the past sorry chap!

un_known, Sep 15, 12:38am
ollie do you really think at that level what country the engine was made in has any bearing on its performance! do you really think those imports running6's have any factory parts on them! and stop stereotyping people based on the cars they like you just come across as narrowminded.

while your calling everyone else meatheads your making yourself look like a meathead .and by calling the v8 fans meatheads are you impling that people who like imports are inherently more intelligent than those who drive v8s!Every engine has its merits by not looking at the big picture you are only limiting your options.

guider1, Sep 15, 9:29am
Sorry ollie but facts are facts!
Rayglass. 2 low to mid 6sec runs in Oz & BOOM. destroyed engine. Mike Moran. 100 high 5sec passes & still going strong.
Kenny Duttweiler. 1550hp V6 Buick, 160 passes without any damage.
The Tier 1 class in Oz dont even want the Jappas running at their meetings because they are too unreliable & waste too much racing time due to engine failures. If you dont believe me ring ANDRA. lol.
All the top racers are laughing at them.
Oh. & by the way ollie, just to burst your Jappa bubble. Rayglass fastest time was done when the car was not of legal weight, it was too light for it's class; so that time means absolutely nothing & is not even recognised by ANDRA.

foxdonut, Sep 15, 9:31am
They're both imports. Or did I miss something and we now have a domestic market!

All cars in NZ are "imports".

doug207, Sep 15, 10:37am
can't wait for this to turn in to a "more valves are better" thread so we can school some rice-cookers.

bigjerry, Oct 26, 12:49pm
thats still half a second mate
