can be anything from $800ish to $2000+ depending on the car and what repairs it needs to get on the road.

$300 for inspection $350 for re registration including 6 months rego at my local AA when i did my car approx a year ago.

the inspection also includes a WOF so basically $650 to get back on road including 6 months costs. can get it with a year rego as well for a higher price. compliance checks are just like a WOF in that you are entitled to a recheck for nothing if it fails, within a month of first inspection. you also get an extra day for public holiday days as it goes by working days.

the catch is that compliance inspections are much tougher than a WOF inspection, depending where you go they can be ruthless (AA are good). so sometimes you can end up needing costly repairs and youve allready paid $300 non refundable. If the car is up to WOF spec, and in ok condition then go for it. When i did mine i went to the local cheap warrant guy and got him to inspect car for $25 first as an indicator of what it might have needed.

plus now, if you stillhave the oldplates you can reuse them now, but the cost is still the same.

Only for black plates as far as I know.
