starts and idle but has no power wont go above 30kms and in park will rev to 3grand then starts to cut out 147 on clock new plugs had all coils replaced last year.

I don't know the first thing about those motors but I can tell you other some other cars are known to do that if they have a faulty crank or cam sensor. Might be worth a google along those lines to see if the symptoms match etc if nothing else comes to light. Did this happen all of a sudden or did it get progressively worse!

Surely either of those faults would bring up thecheck engine light! I know the fault OP mentioned doesn't as i have experienced it with another mitsi vehicle, but who knows!

I fixed a mates one in the weekend with similar problems that you describe the magnets in the throttle body had come unstuck off the shaft I cleaned the throttle body and re glued it up runs like a gem now

Ssshhh thats the fix that Mitsubishi dealers don't want people to know!When you look at one in bits its a seriously crap design on the part of Mikuni isn't it fatmat.

if it is a fly by wire ( no throttle cable ) it probably has an etv problem.(electronic throtttle valve ) Mitsubishi nz sell r eco ones through their used parts department.

thanks all for ur postings . weather has bein crap and its in the drive so hopfully tomorrow il get chance to have a better look . gdi have a bad name so thought id start here and see if their was anything common that fitted with my problem . thanks bigfatmat1 will have a look into that.
