they're replacing all the startline area concrete so it will be freshly prepped ready for the upcoming season. should be good for breaking weak GM & Ford rears. that Hell on Wheels day on Nov 6 @ meremere should be a bl@@dy good day.

See from his profile Mark is in the IT industry so guy's he probably will have a smart car, a hybrid car or a Remuera taxi and you will never catch him on a race track participating. Most geeks don't drive real cars, they expend their passion on computer ram and HP is Hewlett Packard not horse power.

I was just responding to the initial wind up from quickstitch actually :-) I have owned several V8's XA 302C, XA 460L, XA 351C, HZ Premier 308, HQ Premier 350 & 383 (Dyno'd 420Hp).I have only participated once - oddly enough at the GM Drags day (in the HQ).Car wasn't really ready with no LSD, average street tyres, and a complete novice driver.Best run of the day was a high 13, with lots of traction issues.I had an absolute ball, and if it wasn't for finances and not having enough time, I would still be driving the HQ (sold about a year ago now).With the LSD & Drag tyres I think it would have got into the high 12's.Involved enough to know how to fit an engine / diff / trans, replace intakes / carbs / dizzy / ignition systems / re-wires / wheel bearings / suspension etc (never built an engine / trans however).Yes, I know high 12's wouldn't be 'fast' for a lot of people, but plenty for me :-)

mopsy - where do I rubbish anyones car! Just making a generic joke about Fords.Not anyone in particular.I like pretty much all V8's, including Japanese. As you can see, I have owned both Fords & Holdens (with some chev bits here and there).BTW You will often find that a lot of computer 'geeks' do drive fast cars, admittedly usually of the Japanese turbo variety, but fast all the same.Mostly people that rubbish a particular brand or others cars don't work on their own car themselves, so may not appreciate the work others have done to theirs - do you work on yours!

Haha, no worries.You must be keen to have done to stocks, on the odd occasion that I've watched it, someone always seems to end up in the wall or something else painful looking.Drags at least is relatively safe (with the slower cars at least).I went to Fathers Day drags and saw 50SIX run, thats a damn fast car.
