AA and google etc. always way out. I get pretty accurate answers from you guys on these questions in the past, so here's another one. Cheers
leaving Albany early before the motorway builds up, say 6am. what time you reckon I'd hit Taupo! (with no stops or hanging around, but not driving dangerous either).ta

When I regularly drove between Hastings and the North Shore, it was always around 3 1/2 hours between Taupo and the Shore (or vice versa).

avoid Hamilton, go through Matamata. depends on driving/trafic, b4 lunch though.
andrea_w,

There is actually a way to avoid Matamata too (cos really, who wants to voluntarily drive through there lol).
Just as you come into Taupiri is a left turn (takes you past the road Candyland is on) which comes out at Cambridge - it zig-zags a bit but it's almost all open road with very little traffic.

Most of the GPS's out there seem to recommend the Taupiri- Gordonton- Cambridge route when heading to Taupo from Auckland.

Explain to me how I'm a complete retard! Your answer should be entertaining, at the very least.

No, Taupiri road is a good option. What are you on!

Look at his profile. Think you may have insulted their home town.

It's about 4 hours from Auckland to Taupo if you aren't held up by traffic issues and you don't stop. (Give or take how far across Auckland you have to drive.)
Don't bother with Route 27, since SH1 became expressway all the way to Huntly it's not worth it anymore. But turn left at Taupiri and stay on that road through to Ruakura and the Hamilton Gardens, it's a quieter road than the "official" Hamilton by-pass.
[As others have said, there's a further alternative to turn left again half way along this side road (just past Gordonton) and avoid Hamilton completely, coming back to SH1 at Cambridge. There are a LOT of country crossroads where you have to stop and then start again if you chose to do this part of it -fine if you are driving an automatic V8, but I just go via Hamilton. ]

Thats a good drive going through gordonton, there is a few stop starts along the way but the drive through the countryside is well worth it.

Lol the above two, nah no one has got in touch just a physical one that follows me to work from the north shore and in the weekends. Dont see how I affect property values lol. Or the ones that follow you around here when they only post in motoring normally or music.

I am somewhat different actually, when not being sarcastic and stirring like I do here. Some just hate me saying the things they don't wanna hear.
joanie32,

a complaint and subsequent warning for calling someone a THAT! common precious!
andrea_w,
Sep 15, 5:09pm
I'm kinda lost for words about why you got a warning. the only possible person you could have offended in that post was me, but I was far from offended by what you said nor would I bother complaining about such trivial 'name calling'. In fact, it was merely a bit of banter and your reply was actually quite entertaining :p If I wanted to complain about something, I would have done it about post #16 cos you insulted aucklanders lol
To anyone who read joanie32's post. could anyone see a reason it may have been taken down!! I suspect this is the work of the self imposed moderator. again.
To whoever complained - grow up.

Probably offended a retard.
