Just bought a VP Calais but the door lock/ imobilizer remote is abit stuffed and you have to press it alot to finally get it to work.I wouldnt bother using it at all but the car self imobilizes after a few minutes when you turn off the ignition, any thoughts!

It all depends on if its a series I or II Calais. Series I have the hard buttons & black case with Holden on the back ot it & not BCM controlled whereas Series II has the soft buttons & black case with Holden on the front face & is controlled via BCM. If series I car, open remote up, there will (should) be a white label on the printed circuit board with code eg: 603884A. You can get a genuine Mongoose remote via local Holden dealer or if they have no idea let me know via my auctions & I can supply. Series II remotes are only available via Holden dealer & have to be purchased as a pair & both recoded to the BCM via tech1. You cannot recode a new single series II remote to the BCM

I worked in Holden parts for years - we dealt with Mongoose regularly - so your case was more like the Holden dealer you tried had no idea where to get the remote from.lol
