been told it could be a cracked piston or broken rings. However the guy took rocker cover off and found a valve that wasnt really doing its thing. Needs to be shimmed apparantly so Im guessing that may be where the compression has gone! It was running quite rough and quite a lot of black smoke.Does that sound about right!

if a cylinder leakdown test has confirmed it then yes.

I guess thats cheaper than a new engine.
