They're a NZ based seller.plenty of computer gear places sell here and source from overseas.

What happened to Citroen! The CS, the ZM, even the 2CV, the neat little BX, and those ancient little vans you would see in the French countryside.were all things of elegance and even beauty. Now all they produce is fugly. It's not modern, not-post modern, not even utilitarian chic.just a burning desire to make something really, really un-attractive.

The Trafic is a joint venture between Renault, Nissan and Opel. Nissan and Opel have their own versions too, of which the Opel (Vivaro) is already available in NZ. They're not a bad van, a good alternative to the Transit and maybe even the Hiace.

They're everywhere in Europe but are a lot smaller than the Transit. Renault also makes a bigger van called the Master which is frigging huge.

The turbo diesels are hot, and probably the best handling van there is. The only vans that'll be passing you at high speed on UK motorways.

No they are not. its called drop shipping. Trademe terms and conditions require that you actually be in possession of the item in order to sell it

I wondered that too - but then I guess they are in possession of it in the UK.
Does TM forbid that! I wouldn't have considered that "drop shipping" as such.
Spose the easy way to check is to CW it and see what TM do about it.

in their possession mean in New Zealand, available immediately etc etc. the semantics do not stretch that far. If its not IN the country, wheres the proofthey have it! It hasnt come into NZ, it hasnt passed a border inspection, it hasnt been vinned. No. They shoudlnt be advertising that vehicle till it is at the very least in their posession and in the country

I agree - but then (just to play Devil's advocate), where's the proof that any car (that hasn't been VINNED) is in the country!
From TMs POV, is there a difference between a local dealer having a car en route from Japan and this!
While I agree with you, I'm not convinced TM will do anything about it.

the proof is a) in the ability to view, and b) in the paperwork that can be produced or photographed and posted when requested that shows it has actually crossed the border.
I agree that trademe are unlikely to do anything about it, unless someone really pushes. they tend not to give a shit provided they get their listing fees

ACTUALLY--now heres the rub. I had this conversation with TM staff. A LOT of my stock is in transit.Yes I own it but its not actually in NZ PROVIDED you actually own the item and state its in transit then no worries. The people that tear my shorts are the people who don't (and possibly never will) own the goods they are advertising. One such organisation were advertising one of MY cars and asked me if they could borrow it to show to "a customer" -pity the customer was calling them from my office

If it's been thru even one UK winter then I wouldn't touch it with yours as there will be corrosion issues. The UK doesn't use sand/grit - they use raw salt on their roads.
