I've posted a couple times on here about my new Hyosung but now something bad has gone wrong. Bike sat in the garage over night and in the morning tried to turn over but wouldn't start up (both with or without choke). So I ended up push starting it in the afternoon and finally got it going, rode it to Uni, sat outside for a good 5 or so hours, this time when I started it up again it worked fine.
Rode it to a mates for about 10 minutes and parked the bike for about 3 hours. This time when I tried to turn it on again it wouldnt go so needed to push start it again. Just got home and put it in the garage and turned it off. Just out of curiosity tried to turn it on and now it doesn't even try to turnover. No noise at all when I push ignition.
Does anyone have any ideas! Or does it look like I'm going to have to take it into a shop and see what they can do!
THANKS for any help :) I'm relatively new with bikes

Sounds like a battery issue to me.Its going flat and perhaps you havent riddfen it far enough to recharge itself.

i'd suspect the battery isn't getting enough charge , maybe too many short rides and long stops.- how many km to uniand your mates place !. First thing to check is your battery voltage which you can do with a cheap digital multi-meter (from $10 or so from Dick Smiths etc) . Cold mornings don't help either as batteries don't work as well then and the engine needs more to crank it too. A trickle charge battery charger may be useful too, $20 and up. but warming weather will help as well.

They come out with rubbish batterys anyway so that would be the 1st thing to replace even if its not the problem.

OP. Sounds to me like either the side stand switch, or a loose wire in the mix. Its probably not a big thing at all, just annoying. I notice you are in christchurch - go and join southernrider.co.nz its a south island dedicated bike forum, plenty of other chch riders on there too, you might find it a good resource.

Does the speedo come on at all and/or does it dim when you press the starter!

There's your problem - you don't push the ignition as part of the starting process.
It's doing you a favour by not starting so that you won't be seen riding a Hyobag.

Rusty A generic answer is that most likely the battery is knackered.if the bike isn't actually new but just new to you then a good chance., BUT the older (pre 09) Hyusung 650's had an issue with their reg/rec unit.

correct, in 2008 or so they went to fuel injection, and as a result had to upgrade the charging system to keep up with the fuel pump, which fixed the earlier charging and electrical system woes.
