Hey I just got a Hyosung GT250R and just realised that when I put it on the kickstand it doesn't seem to lean over very far compared to my previous bikes which were cruisers. I am just a bit nervous as I live in Christchurch and with all the aftershocks I'm a bit scared that some of them might make it fall over because of its slight angle!
Is this a normal thing for it not to lean over far! Or do I need to get a new kickstand! There doesn't seem to be any accidental bends or anything in the kickstand
Thanks

Old Moto Guzzis('75-'80's) had the same problem. My Spada fell of it's side stand once. Never again; I stuck a California stand (and lower rail) on and never regretted it. My Ducati makes me nervous for the same reason! Could always cleave a little off the length! Or bend it the other way! Take it off, stick it in the vice, heat it cherry red and use the big hammer!

Yep, I altered the stand on the GT250 I borrowed for the same reason. Bit of heat with the gas set and a piece of pipe over the end of the stand. Give it a wee tweek and all will be sweet. Always worried about my Z750 for the same thing but not so easy to heat and bend

if u werent in chch i would say not to worry. but seeing you are you probably want to either take to it with a hammer or be better to get a new stand

check your static sag on the springs,, if bike sits too low the stand may appear to be to long.

I hate to say it but yes it did. They are poorly built it also broke the indcator & cracked the faring. Worst bike ive ever owned next would be the yamaha tenere 660 i did not like either of them. Only bought the hyobag as i hadnt ridden a road bike in a very long time. I only had it a coupple of months. Then went to a gsx 600 to a zzr1100 to the tenere to my current bike vtr1000

Yea i love the vtr but it does love the gas but it also loves the back wheel so you cant win them all

VTR lol good luck with that. Good when good, bad when bad. Can be actually made to handle if you know your suspension.

Na you prob wont either, just no of a few that have gone POP at low kms, and it pays to get the tensioners done with stronger ones. a miss unnderstood bike as far as suspension goes I hear.Bit like the TLRs they managed to throw a few riders with poor set up.

oh will have to look into that. Are you talking about the cam chain tensioners!

Yeah they are a bit upright, aren't they.I've had mine for a year or so now and never thought of changing the stand lol.It fell over during one of the earthquakes and only broke the indicator and had a couple of tiny scratches on the fairing, nothing major! I really like my hyo, it's never missed a beat.I've had CBRs and RGVs etc but TBH, even though a little more power would be nice, I'd rather ride this any day.

Yep, crap for what the bike is. And the new ones are not much better. Suzuki make a good bike but the brakes are not up to it compared to the competition. I owned the Hayabusas direct competitor (ZX14) and its brakes were bloody stunning. My current bike, a much older suzuki 1100 has better brakes than the Bus did.

If you can park your bike with its front wheel against a wall and in gear, hopefully this will minimise movement in quakes, if you can use a tie down .

From what ive seen VTRs that have been screwed hard out will bust a tensioner, pre 2000! VTRs had crap suspension too soft up front and too hard out back, next gen ones a whole lot better.
