Coon sprint

About 10 grand over priced if he is lucky.
For that price you could get a manual AU3 XR8 or VT Clubsport. At least they were resonably quick.

Another one thats spent far too much money, and you would have to ask why it was even necessary, the first 260K of its life must have been hard to have needed a full drivetrain overhaul. If anything it makes you more suspicious as to what condition the rest of it is in.Its worth much more than $5K but definitely not 15, if only for the reason that its a Sprint and that its had large amounts of expensive work done.

in all fairness, the sprints are pretty rare and becoming sought after in australia. still a bit pricey.

Had a mate many moons ago with a sprint ute. Thought it went very well.

Quicker off the mark than than the xr6 (which was quicker than the xr8) and much better top end than the xr8

That shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
The only reason most people spend more more money to get the "performance" model of any given car is because they want to cane.

That car's never been owned by a little old retired couple who used it once a year to go visit their daughter in Hamilton. In fact, if that car HASN'T taken a thrashing in every one of those 260,000km. well. you can put a feather duster down my trousers and call me "Albert".

In other news, holy cr@p that's some ugly kit on that car.

franc123, Sep 27, 4:20pm
Yeah I realise that (duhh) but those things are pretty tough, it'd have to be a combo of crap maintenance and thrashing over a long time to have justified doing what's been done.Surely you wouldn't just rock up to a garage and say heres a blank cheque I want my motor. trans and diff overhauled because I feel like it oh and do some performance mods while you're in there.I'll be back in a months time. !

They seem to be priced in aus from 8k to 15k

chris_051, Sep 27, 5:26pm
Do they sell! At the same time tarted up Fairmont Ghias (EL GTs) are north-wards of 50 grand Aussie. Not justified, optimistic and riding the wave of the Aussie muscle car price boom.

Sorry franc I just assumed you were a complete idiot for some reason. Won't happen again!

scotty20001, Sep 27, 6:57pm

The Sprint is (was) a good car, with generally known to be more powerful than the 200kw EB GT. Factory rated 192kw, they should have kept the little lip spoiler on the boot, factory front bar and alloys, to keep the value up. A low k Sprint could still fetch up to $18k if in Polynesian Green, but that car is a bit too far off the mark for what it is.
