it may be worth it if you live out in the bush, would save you alot of money making sure you are equipped for the unexpected!

One in bog standard form with a set of decent tyres and a winch would see you right.and probably $40k cheaper

Exactly. Although, some people don't know when to stop, and some people want to go further. A lot of money spent to gain SFA in return IMO (from experience). I bet that Landcruiser will handle like a balloon full of poridge on the road.
It comes with 6 D Shackles though (as per picture). Maybe the owner was expecting more earthquakes here in chch and was getting prepared for the big one so he could drive to Australia.

15 to 20k would be lots of dollars for a 1991 definatley not 50k

Yep, and 15 to 20k could buy just a normal, but a very nice late model car.

you can buy a monster truck for 20k (or less) in the states & bring it over for less than that

You have to wonder why would you pour 70k into it though. 70k would buy you something much more impressive

I think the key point in the ad is "returning to USA", which means the owner has spent time there. In NZ we tend to put value into practical terms, while in america and even canada, this sort of thing is a status symbol, and would easily bring the price he is asking. Now, me!Noooo way would I be seen in this thing.

$70K is a massive wad of cash to spend on mods on a 20yo Cruiser, I can't really see where its gone TBH.If you crashed it or wrote it off you sure as hell wouldn't be paid out anything like that from insurance, most of this accessory product isn't worth sod all to them.If it realises half the asking price it would be a surprise.

Maybe he meant 7 grand!. Then again it has a Toyota badge, some goat will pay the asking price, smart ones would get a trusty GQ Patrol for 10 grand that'll go anywhere that can with a winch and muddies.

I sold mine 6 months ago with similar mods, but cut down to a ute for $25,000,it was a 92,it would be worth about the same
