No. It will have accessory belts though. The fan will be electrically operated.

Its one belt and its a huge serpentine one, as has been fitted to 6 cyl Falcon engines for 17 years now.

Expensive belt, but very easy to fit.

Why I'm asking is because my daughter is selling their Ford Territory TX AWD 2005 and was asked the question 'if it had a cam belt!' and she couldn't see anything in the vehicle booklet and didn't want to answer the question with the wrong information.

Sorry my mistake the original question should have been-----" Does a Ford Territory have a cam belt!"

Hi yddac.Just to help you out with some terminology:
Most cars (not all) have a camshaft (or more than one) which sits on top of the engine. It needs to be rotated (driven) by being connected to the crankshaft which is on the bottom of the engine. The two common ways of doing this are by use of a very strong reinforced-rubber belt- the "Cam Belt" or by using a chain (similar to a bike chain but much 'gruntier').The cambelt version needs replacing fairly regularly whereas the chain does not.
Depending on the engine replacing the belt can be a fairly expensive and involved job because the parts are 'inside' the engine, taking several hours which is why people are so interested in which cars have belts and whether or not they have been changed recently.
Generally if the belt breaks while driving serious and very expensive engine damage will occur.
A fan belt is usually a very easily serviced item on the outside of the engine that drives a cooling fan.A lot of engines no longer have a fan belt (as mentioned above), because the fan is electrically powered. Instead they will usually have an accessory belt or auxillary drive belt or some other term meaning the same thing. These belts will drive things like power steering, water pump, A/C, alternator etc. Quite often the term 'fan belt' is still used even if it doesn't literally drive a fan.
In your Territory as Craig says there is no cam belt; it will have a cam chain. This is often seen as a plus by potential buyers.
Hope that helps!

An old saying for you ferrit. It is wiser to say nothing and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it.

I've just checked my car and I can't find a belt that drives a fan. Where the hell has it gone!
