I'd strongly suggestthe FIRST thing you do is pay the $1.99 a minute to have your two earlier threads removed. Given that unless the issues have been repaired you are basicly trying to offload a broken car with a known mechanical fault. Cut n paste from earlier thread Hey guys. I have an immaculate "1992 Mazda MS-8 Efini" which I purchased about a month ago. its done 243,000kms but the original 2.5 litre v6 engine was pulled out as it blew a head gasket & the smaller 2.0 litre v6 version with 130,000km on it from another Ms-8 Efini was fitted, well this is what the last owner told me. also told me that the gearbox had blown itself a year before the original 2.5 engine did so 3 grand was spent on a gearbox overhaul.
Anyways i have noticed two major issues, firstly the engine intermittently misses at idle like it wants to stall but doesnt. e.g. not all the time, just every now and then. could this be because the original 2.5 Litre v6 ECU computer has been left in to manage the smaller 2.0 litre v6 engine and its not managing the smaller engine correctly!
Secondly I think the gearbox isnt changing into 4th gear, the engine revvs are fine at cruising speeds of between 50-80km/hr sitting at about 1500-2000 revvs, but when you are going 100km/hr the engine seems like it is screaming as it sits on 3000 revvs or over which I think is too high. What could be causing this issue! could it be because the gearbox was obviously suited to the original 2.5 v6 that was in it! and it wont change gears correctly with the 2.0 v6. or could it have been that it wasn't reconditioned properly or something wasn't put back right!
I'd suggest you be 100% honest regarding the faults and run a $1.00 reserve auction rather than trying to pass your mistake forward to some other innocent buyer. Incidently you CAN be taken to DT should you fail to disclose a known and documented fault and I STRONGLY suspect the buyer would win regardless of AIWI

Hi again. im not worried about the old threads anymore. I have just spent $500 on the car fixing all the faults. I only now need to sell as I have been given a 2003 Toyota Rav4 from a family member going overseas permanently & I only have 1 parking space at my apartment. eeeek! haha. The gearbox has had a new computer fitted so is no longer displaying any gear changing faults. Also the engine ECU, & spark plug leads have all been changed removing the missing at idle issue. car now runs like new. :)

go $1 res if you really need to get rid of it. I would say it's value would be around $1500 with a current wof/reg.

why is everyone being so smartass about my thread . i bought the car as a runabout. had some faults with it which i tried to get help with on here. was beyond me so i took the car in to get the faults fixed, faults are now remedied, then got struck lucky with the family members rav4 which in turn means i need to sell this car. not everyone is completely clued on car valuations & things. if i make a loss i make a loss. i ddnt realise $1000 was all the efini was worth tho. thanks for the input

I sold my one about 4 years ago with a just reco'd box for 3 grand. Had it listed for 4 grand for ages but the market said 3. You will be very lucky to get to much but good luck.

They wont be able to touch the rav4 as it will be in the ONE gated secure carpark space that each apartment gets in my building. whereas the efini will end up being on the side of the street if i keep it. thats why i cant have 2 cars. haha. not enough secure parking!

yeh ive just went and browsed expired efini listings. didnt realise how worthless they were even in good condition. will just chuck it on for $1500 ono once the account hurries up & shows funds.

Hi Lisa-If indeed you have had the car repaired then I sincerly apologise. However don't throw baby out with bathwater. My advice still stands. Run a $1.00 reserve auction and see where it goes The market will find a level but if a bidding war starts then you just never know where it will end up
