I know this shouldn't go here, but I just got told off for for putting a load of washing in the drier for 90 minutes instead of 1 hour 20 which is apparently longer.

I got a written warning at work one day for being too quick on a call out and not adding an hour to the job on the job sheet. we used to go do jobs (mobile hydraulics) during the day and call outs after hours, say if a job took an hour we would write an hour down and the boss would add at least another 1/2 hour to it. Ripped his customers off no end

my elderly neighbor told me off for parking on the wet grass between her drive and mine and leaving "tracks" she might have had a point but it was my property.

Sounds like you might need to pay a late night visitto her lawn before some light rain with fertiliser and creative ideas for a design.

Would have been a real tragedy if a copy of that warning had accidentally found its way to the ministry of consumer affairs, stopping off for a cup of tea at the department of labour, and popping in to your Union on the way.

I pruned some fruit trees for an elderly client on a saturday morning.
A few days later I get a very angry call from her son. He thinks I stole his dads chainsaw while I was doing the job. Im very upset by this and try to calm him down. Hes call me all sorts of names. I ask what kind of saw it was. He said it was a pioneer with a new 24 inch bar in a plywood box along with fuel, oil and tools and spares, all of which was missing. His mother is sure I took it. I tell him to ask his mother how I got to the job. I heard her in the background after a pause "he had a little silver scooter" He hung up.

The question is, how the hell did you manage to ride your scooter whilst carrying a big-ass chainsaw in a box!

My son is an apprentice carpenter with a large company. Last week he was called into the managers office and given a telling off for standing on a saw stall instead of driving across town to get a small ladder for a two minute job.I have been building for 25 years and have only started using small ladders in the last few years because I am getting lazy with age.

At my job, I dont get told off for stupid little things (sometimes we all get it but we just ignore it) but this old c--t that owns half the place ALWAYS blames me for shit that happens eg the other day one of the teamleaders (I am the other TL) hit the big roller door edges with a big pallet and told no one then this old c--t came over yelling at me asking why I hit it and not tell him (he was asking this in front of my department boss) so I yelled straight back at him ''Ï havent even been out this door on the forklift all today or yesterday!" He had a moan that hes sick of me talking back but who doesnt if they get yelled at for NO REASON! And then my Dep boss got the truth out of the other TL so that old c--t was shamed out. One day he is gonna get his assed sued for harrassment. Daily happenings.

I got told off for 'chain talking' (I assume it was a made up description) apparently Id been spotted over an hour period, by our new manager, talking to several different people, going from one to the other 'for a chat'. Problem was I was the only one in the workshop that wanted to come in early to catch nightshift, go from dept to dept up & down several floors & get a handover of nights events & possible issues. So now I still arrive early, sit & read the paper while the place grinds to a halt & breakdowns are more common.
