Ive been looking for a 10 amp diode for a wiring job i need to complete on my car.Does anybody know who would stock such a thing, so far I have only found one place and they will only sell me ten.ARG Jaycar cant help, apparently Dicksmith no longer sells components . WTF!
I'd say the used electronics place up the top of Queen st."Surplustronics"- it used to be know as,,tbh I'm not even sure if it's still there.3/4 of the way up the hill on the left.I may even have something in the garage as I used to scavenge such things from various electronic parts.

an auto sparkie might be able to help, I would have thought jaycar could have helped. Dick smith havnt stocked components for ages now, well they do but only a very small amount, Nowhere near as much as they used to anyway
What is the part number for the diode you want! ( I have an assortment of NOS diodes including some high current ones) Jaycar do have diodes capable of handling 10 A (ZR1039) - are they not in the form you need! You can often substitute different types as long as they meet or exceed the specifications you want! Auto electricians may have some. http://newzealand.rs-online.com/web/c/!searchTerm=rectifier+diode+10A&sra=oss

Yeah both DS (maybe not the power stores) and Jaycar have them.
I went to Dick Smith they said they dont sell them.RS Components only want to sell me ten haha. I just need one ten amp diode i dont know what kind, its for my alternator (external regulator to internal regulator conversion)
Their ZR1039 is rated at 20 Amp! You could also use a bridge rectifier such as the Jaycar ZR1320 and only use one of the four diodes in it!
