It can't be that good if someone saw fit to leave it under a tree for what looks like an eternity, what a waste of money. Its basically scrap now, that spaceframe is going to be rusted to buggery by now, if it looks that bad in the pics it will be a hell of a lot worse in the flesh.

when I was a schoolboy I'd see #1 motoring around Gisborne. It was Sam Lyall's and ran I think an Austin inline six, transverse in the rear [ie - Tasman/Kimberley] on a landcrab box. I think the same car later had a transverse Rover V8. Anyway, in the early 80s it was pretty damn cool!

It's amazing how what was clearly somebody's pride and joy not even that long ago (has the p'plate in the "before" picture) was left to completely waste into oblivion.

Hmm---ok now It needs a set of wheels. The body has to come off to sandblast and assess the chasis. whilst you're at it the engine may as well come out and get sorted out. The screen needs to be replaced. The body needs sanding back and probably some glass work done. The electrics would need a visit MMMMM I wonder how much theglass body could be ajusted without affecting the low vol --hmmmm

Pump it. should have taken his own advice and pumped the guards

I suspect the electrics would be the biggest problem. Have always been an issue on older fibreglass projects.

haha, bought one similar many years ago. far better looking car, but similar build. Home made space frame chassi. Bonnet blew off on the drive home at about 1 am on a rainy stormy morning. Started snowing, no heater and no demister. Then the friggen wipers cut out. God that was a nightmare drive home. Then I got it home and it sat in the shed for ages because I didnt have the skills to do anything with it. Dumped it dirt cheap in the end. Seen it a few years later sitting on some ones front lawn looking very sad. Never again.

In theory the body is not anything structural so it shouldn't be too much of a problem if it's altered a bit. I'm thinking along the lines of a Kelmark made in the states during the 70s.
