That is a very good point, actually. And those things are actively bought and installed by tough guys trying to look tougher.
I especially liked the ones on the BA Falcon - shaped ford utes, that were made from about 4" chromed pipe, flattened where the end meets the edge of the tray down to about a 4"wide by 1/8" thick chromed flange, with one tiny little #10-gauge self-tapping screw in the middle of the flange fixing it into the wall of the tray.
