What happened to the Vauxhall Viva thread!

I was just about to post.
This was the first car my family owned. My dad bought it second hand from Lower Hutt. I think it was about 1970 we did a family trip from Wellington to Napier and on through the Ureweras (all gravel roads then) to Rotorua and back to Wellington. Mum, Dad and two kids, who says they were no good for trips! I remember it well because in the middle of nowhere we came across a Triumph 2000 on it's roof, the driver lost control in the soft gravel. We had to give her a ride to the nearest town. Those were the days. Still remember the rego CU 2570.

tuttyclan, Oct 27, 7:50pm
Hi there somebody complained me about posting pictures of my cars off FB and TM sent me a warning and removed my thread.

tuttyclan, Oct 27, 7:51pm
When I was posting my thread the kiwi slipped on the banana lol and no more thread.

tuttyclan, Oct 27, 7:53pm
Great story!

keeptightningme, Oct 27, 7:54pm
Some people have nothing better to do with there time.

gooddealz2, Oct 27, 7:57pm
That must be why mine went too.How ridiculous. It's a great way to share without flooding their servers with photo's.Well I've reposted not realising so no doubt it will go again.Oh well at least I know for future.

gooddealz2, Oct 27, 7:59pm
I've just checked e-mail and it's done so that we can't contact one another outside of Facebook so expecting another e-mail any minute.

gooddealz2, Oct 27, 8:00pm
I might put a Facebook link on all my e-mails in future.

phillip.weston, Oct 27, 8:04pm
looks like you are doing a bit of a sell up there Robin.

tuttyclan, Oct 27, 8:04pm
Yeh I only used FB links because for some reason I cant seem to post pics directly off my album but can do it to FB.

tuttyclan, Oct 27, 8:06pm
Just getting an idea of its worth at this stage, might get a bit more serious early next year and to TM dont worry if I do I will list it with TM.

ginga4lyfe, Oct 28, 8:18am
I find it funny how that could happen as if doesnt say anything about not being allowed to do that in the rules. I think they are a bunch of rubber bands, stretching them to suit them when they want, Pathetic

hopie, Oct 28, 2:48pm
VV was my first car too. was at work - flatmate at the time stole and sold it, then peeled off to aussie, all in the same day. bastard.

johnf_456, Oct 28, 4:35pm
The rules state strictly no contact information and what can you do with facebook. contact someone outside of trademe.

You shall not list your email address, phone number or any other contact detail within the description of listings, listing comments and/or questions, in your member profile, or in the Trade Me message boards.

Direct from Terms and conditions

goron56, Oct 28, 4:42pm
now we know who's removing them

johnf_456, Oct 28, 4:50pm
Lol wasn't me just saying thats the terms and conditions of the site that we all here agree to. SO by breaching the t&c's then you do risk it been removed otherwise.

gooddealz2, Oct 28, 5:00pm
I don't know about anyone else but I looked at the car in question on Facebook and then came back on here to respond. It never even occured to me to make contact through Facebook. It makes sense that they might not want us too but I'm sure it would not be difficult to contact anyone on here assuming they wanted you to.I'm sure enough clues could be given without upsetting rules.I had a thread removed for the same reason although I reposted it because I hadn't realised why it had disappeared.Once we've had a trade with someone it would be easy to befriend them anyway. It's a darn site easier putting a Facebook link in a thread than loading multiple photo's onto TradeMe for items we have no intention of selling.

tuttyclan, Oct 28, 6:24pm
Trademe can be really difficult when it comes to selling an item with the only contact is via Trademe. If someone asks a question to say can I have a look at the item before bidding, but you can't give any contact details. What is the bidder supposed to do,buy the item first then change their mind if they dont like it when they come to pick it up.

johnf_456, Oct 28, 7:08pm
Since people can't contact to view before hand I just say if your not happy with it on pickup you will not be pushed to buy it. That way all is fair and above board, trademe probably would like it to view goods. But as it goes too many people abuse therefore trademe don't get fees and its also unfair to legit sellers like me and you who do things by the book.

johnf_456, Oct 29, 7:18am

neville48, Oct 31, 7:46pm
Doesn't matter tho, I think you got the info you were after , the thread was getting interesting but had served the purpose for now, just be more cunning next time. its a big game of catch me if you can aye. Rules are made to be broken etc.

tuttyclan, Oct 31, 8:10pm
Trade Me are really having a big crack down as I just recieved my second notice this week, one was for the Viva Thread, now got told off for using key words in my auction.

So they should nothing worse than having to scroll through hundreds of false listings that have nothing to do with what you searched for. Its time wasting especially when you don't want to browse an entire category for some items like I have tonight searching for certain items.
