kennys a legendhow many 70 year olds do you see racing single f5000s that fast, not many 20 year olds could do it!
real race cars!

modie61, Nov 14, 5:40am
I dont think that will stop him,hes a tough little guy,an inspiration.

franko171, Nov 14, 10:13am
he will be back take more than that to stop him

socram, Nov 14, 12:24pm
From an eye witness I spoke to this morning, it was probably the competitive instinct in wanting to be at the first corner first from a rolling start!Kenny takes no prisoners but these F5000s are historic race cars and the historic drivers probably need to respect them. Now happens a lot in the UK too, with competitive drivers racing older cars like they were Formula Fords or Suzukis.

Slight damage to Kenny's leg I gather. I can't see him hanging up his helmet just yet and Moss at 81 has only just retired, when he realised he was past it and felt he might be a danger on track.

I reckondrive shaftcomponent failure,it was sosudden he couldnt do anything .rolling starttrack only dampno water as such s I was watching fromhospitality suite above .Expensive but could be worseweld in newspaceframe struts, radiatorfold up some panelsAt least the drive train looked okbe ready for Jan 28.Unlike the Aussieskiwis dohave wets, Aussies wont run F5000 in wet . Was at Pukeyears ago when they bought Aussies over & they wouldnt even unload themas it wasraining. crowd booed them .

modie61, Nov 14, 2:17pm
The r/h halfshaft was broken,so i hear, not sure if that is true though.

Awesome drive by him on Saturday, lots of cars letting it all loose on that corner as well, a Holden guy was having a ball hanging it out towards of his race.Bad luck for Ken. had a look at the beautiful car . Missed Sundays run.

I was expecting to see something on the TV news last night, but not even a mention. Aw well, I guess you have to be an All Black to get a mention every time there is an injury. Motor racing legends don't count as news-worthy I guess

jrlaw, Nov 14, 6:28pm
T.V. at motor races ! dream on but the Saturday was awesome.

morrisman1, Nov 14, 6:29pm
Its MUCH more important that i hear about an AB who got drunk. Of course it is!

scarey65, Nov 15, 4:36am
theres an article in the manuwatu standard which gos in to detail.
its on stuff.if only there were more kennys and less drunk all blacks

wrong2, Nov 15, 12:40pm

elect70, Nov 15, 1:18pm
Biggest crowd seen at Manfeild for yearsbigger than the teir 1races even .Shows whatpublicwants to see . .TV3 covering theV8s & supertourers only

scarey65, Nov 15, 2:19pm
F5000s real race cars!go to hampton downs january and see about 50 or more!TV3s a joke anyway.

1ollie, Nov 15, 2:36pm
Indeed it was a big crowd but I wouldint be so sure it was the biggest! Have to gone to the 4&Rotary Jamboree or a D1NZ round! they both pack in some serious numbers with probably 50% less cars competing
