Just call me Macyver

I do like it when a sticky situation calls for some quick thinking. LIke a novice I reversed the Hilux of a mates driveway and forgot about the drop off on the side, spun the wheel and promply bottomed out on the lower strut. The right front wheel was not even slighlty touching the ground and the left rear was also light on traction and the ute was teetering, going no where. (now play Macyver music) I got the bottle jack out and jacked up the front so the wheel was at the same level as the drive way atleast, turned hard right so the tyre was just and only touching the edge of the driveway. I moved all the weight in the tray to the left rear, nervously got into the drivers seat and selected reverse, and dropped the clutch and shot backwards. The bottle jack fell over the right front wheel bounced back up onto the driveway and I was back on track. WIN!

where does the chewing gum wrapper enter the story!

It's MacGyver. And, I would've just lowered the tyre pressures on the two tyres that were on solid ground.

bigjerry, Nov 14, 10:55am
Well you would have still been stuck but with flat rear tyres. I had to use the jack because the car was sitting solid on the wishbone at the front. The FR tyre was airbourne.

One episode of MacGyver used part of the NZ film 'Race for the yankee zephyr'.
It was a jetboat scene where the baddies boat misses a curve & gets stranded on a river island.

Solving the national debt crisis and bringing back mullets as a viable hairstyle would be good for starters.
