Moped Reg

I thought that moped registration was 50cc and less only!

Both ads claim moped rego on these 150cc, err, machines.

Am I mistaken, or have they bent the truth a bit to get into the moped class!

If by bent the truth, you mean lied, then yeah they have.

I understand mopeds now need a VIN to get registered, so there'll be less of this about once these ones crap out (which won't be long).

To be fair tho, they are a class all of their own.
Can't imagine any halfway normal (normal for a moped driver) wanting to be seen riding a Tuk Tuk

Even mopeds are over $130 now.

The older one might be able to be registered as a "classic" vehicle which makes it cheap. Not sure how it works for bikes but if that was a car then it would qualify for cheap reg at that age.

You might be waiting a VERY long time. Those PX150 based TukTuk's last forever, parts are and will be available as long as we have gasoline. Vehicles don't really come much more durable/fixable.

hi jazz, then it is true !
these tuk tuk's are based on the old but vernerable V Wbettlefloor pan !

I rode a Honda Gyro for some years, had a much bigger than normal box on it and could load it up with. well, way too much weight at times, you certainly learned not to lean too far when it was full to the gunwales.

There is a 50cc Ape around (a true moped I assume) fitted up as a coffee wagon.I passed it going over the port hills once, must have been a loooooong trip for it.
