Fair enough. I think in this case though its the ignorance of how it really is that is stopping people speaking up and demanding things improve. I think the average Joe thinks the Police are just like what they see on 10/7 and motorway Patrol.

Through owning a business and some degree of fluke I have actually had a pretty good look at the inner workings of a few Police stations. I have also actively worked with Police around the country on a couple of cases.

I don't profess to having seen it all by any means but what I have seen behind the scenes blew me away. Don't get me wrong a good percentage of the Police were excellent but their poorly trained/experienced colleges and terrible organisation/systems let them down horribly.

What got me most was how incredibly inefficient things are. Cases that could easily be solved by someone putting a few hours in cost weeks of Police time and were usually left unsolved. Simply because there was no organisation and follow through. Such a massive waste of money and so much damage to the public as a result.

Like I said I don't mean to demonize the Police, I would just dearly love to get some action happening so we can all benefit, including the Police themselves. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to work under those conditions.

heya jazz and no, doesnt have to be big brother. thinking my warnings are unfair, some of them are pathetic, and thinking that I am being reported by some one targeting me, I had a dicussion with trademe about users being targeted. They disagreed it could happen. There for in my opinion giving it the all clear. Saying its ok to target some one if you want them banned or given warnings. And how you do it is easy. All you have to do is to put their user name in the message board search function and go through the threads looking for their posts. Any indiscretion, no matter how minor, if reported, trademe said they will act on it. According to Trademe its not targeting that person as the person should not have posted any thing wrong in the first place. Even something like wt (then the ef letter) is not allowed. It is an abreviation of a swear word and people know what you mean when you post that. Swear words hidden by asterixes are not allowed either.
Obviously if the person you are targeting has enough indiscretions and you can lay enough complaints against them, they will get warned and or eventually banned. Trademe did say they cant watch the message board all the time, that is why lots get away with it. But if any indiscretions are reported to them, they will definitely act upon them.

Its a shame really as characters like you make the messageboards a fun place to hang out and we are fast losing some of our best memebers.

I don't see why the boards can't reflect reality, in other words any banter and fun that you can get away with in a place of work i.e mechanics workshop, should be fine here.

Plenty of people here like your self that liven up these message boards. fill of all sorts of wonderful charaters. Lots of the good ones have already left or been banned. I agree with your sentiments on the message board reflecting real life a little more. They should bring back the good old Sam Morgan days of self moderation. 10 votes to get something actioned, instead of an email from some idiot who thinks he is a trademe police man, orhas just taken a disliking to you for what ever reason.The fun police are sucking all the fun out of this place. sad.
