We just had a "gentleman" call into the yard. He was calling on behalf of a lady freind who 'definitely bought a car from us' To say he was agro would be an understatement It seems his freind had bought a car from "us' 6 months ago and it had mud and snow tyres which had just failed a WOF. 5 minutes of calling us all sorts of names the politest being "rip off" I tried 6 times to tell hime we NEVER retail sell cars with snow tyres on but that diddn't stop his ranting and raving. I tried to tell him that unfortunately mud/snow tyres are legal and boy did he ramp up the agression. FINALLY he gave us the registration number of the car. Nope we havent sold that car. it was our competition from down the road. he carried on calling us names as he stomped out of the yard. Ya just can't please some people

Oh thats nice, never mind that at the time the tyres were no doubt legal at the time and were compliant on the tread depth and they have had 6 months use out of them and good dealers will swap them as a favour! As soon as I found out it wasn't a car I'd sold I would have given him 30 seconds to get his mistaken arrogant arse off my property before I called the cops.Try and enjoy the rest of your day Kaz you have my sympathies.

I don't see the problem with snow and mud tyres, they are made for a purpose and it is in the hands of the user to use them correctly.

given we are in dauckland its kinda hard to say that. The likelyhood of snow here is pretty remote. Hey dude you are entitled to your opinion. I personally loath the darn things and ALWAYS remove em from any car of mine.

A lot of meth around these parts. I used to get them wanting a price to fix cars that had been kicked in and windscreens broken etc, often by their partners. They just piss me off.

C'mon Kaz, admit it, it was either a rover with a honda motor, or a multipla!

well done kaz! -snow tyres are a death trap - friend got a Chrysler retro thingy (forget name) for his wife and she promptly skidded off the road into a ditch at Kumeu and wrote it off - luckily her and children OK - snow tyres to blame.

I have always said - The customer is always right, unless the customer is an idiot. In this case, he was just an idiot. You're a very patient man Kaz, I wouldn't put up with a someone like that yelling at me - customer or not.
