anybody that really loves thier motorsport would have heard of ron,i grew up down the road from him out at glenmurray,my dad was good mates with him,loved going through his sheds,he had anamazing collection of cars,once a week i would wander dwn the road and say hi,and spend couple of hours looking at everything,would love to get hold of some pics of his collection,thought maybe someone in here might know where could find some,is a piece of history,would love to show my kids.

We went to the collection with the Chevron Club, and he had a 1906/8! Hupmobile, a 1958 corvette convertible and a type 35 Bugatti, and we started it for him and he took it down the road and came back drifting around the corner, worth millions!

i remember in the 70s we used to go for rod runs,and always called into rons,wander thru the sheds,he had nearly every year chevvy,plus bikes,alsorts,was a gentleman thru and thru.

Do they still run that! I remember doing it with the BMW club and winning the day over a M3 and 635s. they were not too happy about that.
I remember in the 1960s, did general cartage in the Glen Murray / Naike area. Ron owned and drove (very slowly) the school bus - a fairly ancientBedford -. One would never have guessed that this driver was the same bloke that I saw tearing around Ardmore in the first NZ Grand Prix in 1954, in excess of 100mph,

there was an old fella up in helensville town ship20 years ago that had a huge shed with beautifully kept stationary engines never got inside but just a view from the roadside was awe inspiring . is it still there !
