I have one and find it does the job.heaviest lift for me was a 6 cylinder cast iron Falcon motor. I seems a light duty unit whereas for the busy workshop I would get something more robust.

hey man, that seems pretty reasonable to me. hthese people look like there close to you, saves on freight ! have you shopped around ! probably hard to beat that price and nice colour to match your decor. freight is the killer on buying off t/m

oh, someone is sure to bleat on about " how safe is it " when your working with lifting m/ceryyou never put yourself between the lifted object and the floor !doesn't mater whos brand it is

Does it need to be new! I have always felt safer around the old, heavy, English style units. Perhaps that is a mis-guided comfort, but you could certainly buy a big, strong old chain-hoist for less than your budget.

Wilson Bro (nelson, but elsewhere too) sold me a "green" 1 tonner for $120. It has a double gearset drive. Don't know brand as it is 5000k away at the mo. Cookes (wire rope) also had a range of different 1 tonners at$80-120. I have found that old small ones tend to not hold on the hoist break when reasonable loads are on them. I have a newish 1 tonner like in the link above and it just feels cheap compared to my green one.

Topmaq are a very good company to deal with, very reasonable and honest, they are also selling a 2 ton unit so why not grab that, it's only another $20 more than the 1 tonner.

Nah. It is in Townsville now. I sold it to a dude over there.

get one the right size for what you are lifting the more they lift the slower the action so if you get one that's too big it get pretty boring yanking the chain, I hada cheap 1 tonner from pacific industries its been real handy and you can climb up a ladder with it, try do that with same old thing. I worked in a workshop with a 5 ton one and it took 5 minutes to get it back up it didn't get used much
that one your looking at could be crap that outfit has a lot of crap I think steel and tube are agents for pacific industries and there chain block wont be much over a hundy

Got a 1/2Ts/h unit that looks the same as the link Given it hell with lifting v6's/ straight 6's (complete motor & box), lifted whole bare car bodys (with suspension) on to trailers , used it to lift concreted steel posts & concrete posts out etc etc. Did that for 15 years & then had to replace the clutch disks @ $20 last year

Incase you are still looking. To date we have not had any issues with our chain blocks being of poor or bad quality.

We try not to sell crap, If we did I am sure our feedback would be ALOT worse. 80,000+ positives over three accounts with only 250ish negatives is pretty good
