is something like this 348350273 worth it! NOT a daily driver - although may go to supermarket once per week. Looking for a weekend toy.$11K max. Decided against V8 unless it is a nice "classic"

Not what I'd pick as a toy - would make a great daily driver though.
Seems like a good deal.

Why not buy a V8, and use less gas. And a classic will not depreciate.
And biker is gunna chip you about the link - or lack of.

Is a better toy,so that you can take out on the weekends etc.
Also with the carbeing ALMOST 40yrs old means that NEXT year you get lower rego costs.
Something to look into!

That they may be,however they are light, quick and can be made to handle. People forget just how quick these things are. But you could put forward a car you would consider a good toy.

IMO a 'toy' is usually something that stands out as well as being fun, a run of the mill Jappa that wouldnt look out of place in a Pak'n'save or laundromat carpark aint no toy

If it's a weekend toy, then I think the question at the top of your list should be "will this, or how quickly will this, depreciate".
If you're not using it daily, or close to daily, any "modern" vehicle is going to depreciate horribly, you can't ignore that, amortize the cost over the K's done and you could be paying a fortune for driving that "weekend toy".Don't know about you, but I sure don't like throwing money away.
How about something like an RX7, personally I'd look towards the Series 4/5, I don't see these depreciating any more, appreciating maybe.I know you say you don't like convertibles, but there's a couple of RX7 convertibles on here at the moment for not much money, they are not that common and starting to become classics for we Generation X.
This seems on the face of it to be a REALLY good price, 347058937, 6 grand, recently "reconditioned", looks to be in pretty good nick.
This one has been advertised for ages, needs some work and re-vinning, might make a nice simple project, 348944689.

Do it, easy to get a bike license. Although, if you are a crap driver. Have a lot of close calls &/or accidents. A bike will probably kill you. You have to use your brain to ride one. Everyone I have known who have ridden a bike, quickly get addicted. other then the pussies.

The whole i had nothing else to use when it rains would throw me off getting a bike! Maybe in a few years :)
