How can i test a coil on a weed eater ! To date i have checked plug and no spark and tested the switch

yes switch to coil with muti tester,earthed out plug (tryed x2 of them)

yellow aye.LOL mmkay-so like all yellow dogs they break down to breed. Talon or mc'collough probably with a white 2 bolt coil. one can check coil resistances with an ohm meter. or simply expect it's a naffed coil-common.

Disconnect kill switch and try, if no spark its the coil.
