Just thought if anyone was keen it might be worth keeping an eye on on the off chance it goes cheap.

There were two damaged at Hampton Downs at the weekend. One in the lunch time demo/parade and one in the first sports/GT race.

I know the owner of one of those damaged cobras. He built his own GT40 from scratch.I'm sure there will be nothing beyond his skill in the repair of the cobra.I've got no end of respect for the man.

Socram - did you see the GT40 in the convention centre!I wasn't there last weekend so I'm assuming then you won all your races

I seriously doubt that a "little bit" of panel work and some "love" will be enough to repair a fibreglass monocoque shell torn clean in half.

Anyone got video of the 5000's running in the rain.I would love to see what it looked like from the grandstand between the apartments

twink19, Jan 25, 6:56am
looked like speed boat racing, the 2 that spun on the main straight looked scary

welshdude, Jan 25, 7:13am
There is reputedly a bump at the start of the straight. Is this causing the spins!

twink19, Jan 25, 11:36am
the bump is there alright, usually gain a couple of hundred revs coming over ther flat in 5th, and with all that water, hold on

afer_daily, Jan 25, 11:52am
i can see fifteen or twenty grand / now youve have let the cat out the bag or the cobra out of the sack .

rob_man, Jan 25, 2:13pm
The auction's expired, I wonder how much it went for. That would have been an ideal project for me given what I do for a living at the moment.
Fibreglass is so easily repaired if all the bits are there.

Hang on Twink.Over the hump in 5th!In an Escort!I have just changed out of third into top (4th) and not fast enough to unsettle the car!

Apparently Ricky's 240Z did a triple spin across the top in the rain on Saturday - without touching the wall.A round of applause from the balconies.

Townie, the only way I'd win in that sort of company was if they all ran out of fuel on the last laps as I am second last on lap times. Can't compete against Ondrack's 5.7 litre TVR or the Lotus 47.

That MkII GT40 in the centre looks fantastic.

If the weather is fine Sunday, I have been invited to take the yellow beast out in the GT/Sports parade just before lunch.

yes, beleive it or not. its not just any old Escort
