Watch out, the Grannys are out to destroy.

ANOTHER granny has hit the wrong pedal and driven through the front window of a bank, this time in Hamilton. Why is it always a combination of Granny + wrong pedal + bank window. It seems it's ALWAYS a bank!

When I found the article on stuff I initially thought I had just dug up an old article but no, It was published today.

I think there is an underground organisation of old ladies who have a grudge against the big banks, they plan on breaking every branch in the country with their shopping trolleys and 'unintentional' acceleration.

Yeah for old ladies! I'm going to be one of them one day and I hope like hell I make that same mistake.

Mr Beswick said they rarely attended jobs involving elderly drivers and the majority of crashes involved younger people aged between 30 and 50. The bank was expected to be closed for several days while the damage was repaired.

Had a Granny+wrong pedal+rubbish bin at the Gull s/s here a couple of weeks ago.If it wasn't for the rubbish bin it would have been Granny+wrong pedal+front window.

I simply can't accept that people can travel more than half a metre either in the wrong gear or hitting the wrong pedal.Don't they have a reaction time!

Maybe along with the eyesight test, they need a reaction speed test for the feet - at any age.

had to sell 90 year old father laws car for same reason, wrong gear, looking wrong direction shot forward instead of backwards, took side out of garage. he couldnt see the problem

I hope that someone is sensible enough to tell me when I am no longer fit to drive. It will be a sad day (for me)but the last thing I want to do is be, is a danger on the road.

Late father in law shouldn't have been driving and didn't renew his med cert. His attitude was "I am 88.What can they do to me! Jail me!"

Arrogant sod (he was arrogant just about all the time) couldn't accept that he was a danger on the road even after he ran into the back of a young mum's car at the lights. He rarely signalled "because he knew where he was going."

Fortunately, I always drove - even in his car.

We should start a campaign - "Dob in a Dodderer".

I'd better hide the Gold Card I'll be getting next month.
