1995 Nissan Cefiro A32. Is there an easy way to do this! It is a right pain. Cheers.

Why would you want to!With kids I think it's a great safety feature of the Nissans, that way you hear the unlock sound before you have the kid trying to open a door in transit.

A sparkie can fix that for you.

I realize with kids it is a good safety feature, however I do not have any, also I store stuff in my backseat and get in and out a lot to get stuff and always having to unlock the doors when I stop is such a hassle!

Yeah I realize this! But, I am fairly mechanically minded, just not enough to know what to do exactly. Shouldn't have a problem once I know how!

Use the child locks - they work much better.

Exactly they do the same thing, and heaps easier for people that don't need to have their back doors locked.

Appreciate the opinions, but can anyone shed light on my original post!

They don't do exactly the same thing.

Some people like to choose whether their doors are locked or not, even with kids. Self locking doors are just a pain in the arse.

The only thing a car should do without being told to is to change gears, dim the rear vision mirror and cancel the indicators.
Thank goodness Microsoft doesn't build cars.

Same idea I guess, child locks you can open from outside which is a better idea

my wife has a 95 cefiro, everytime you open the drivers door all the locks open. do you want people to open the door whilst you're still in the pilots chair!

I dont actually own a Nissan, my teenage son does. And yes, it would annoy the piss outta me too if I had to live with it.But I see the benefits.Does google have a wiring diagram online you could reference off!

A few years back I had a Toyota with automatic locking. A real pain in thearse. I tried a few ways of disabling it but then the central locking and something else wouldn't work either,so I just hooked it back up and sold it. I never tried cutting the pink and blue wire, Really I didn't sell it. I gave it to my daughter.

What happens if you have an accident will the doors still stay locked!

You cut the speedo signal input to the central lock controller the toyota speed signal to the central lock controller is not a pink and blue wire.

on the later cefiros/maxima the input wire is purple and it must be cut at the back of the dash cluster.

Yeah I think so, which is dangerous, they are designed to unlock I think, but if no airbags go off etc, there is no way to detect
