Looking at tarting up a 173 head to go on my soon to be fresh 202. What is the valve head diameter in the 308! Are there any better options! Cheers!

What diameter are they! If I had a lathe I would do it myself! Thinking back (way back) to engineering class at high school, I loved playing with all the machinery.

Nah. happy with the triple SUs for now, no throttle pumps! I read some years ago the red head flows more than the blue/black head. Obviously with work.

+1, I couldn't agree more, there are still a few around at quite reasonable prices. You can spend a lot of money and still not get a standard head to breathe as well as a YT. I still have a Steel crank 186 with an X2 cam, Starfire rods, headers and a 28/36 DCD Webber carb; it hasn??

Have one, have also ported it a bit more. Doing another to try it, had a 202 in a VK once, couldn't for the life of me get it anywhere near economical. Currently have 90 over 179, steel crank, 186 XU1 cam, triples, etc, but it's 14 years old, leaking too much oil, needs to come out for a freshen up so am tarting up a 202 to 'temporarily' replace it. If I don't like it I'll flick it off. Thought of the 173 head cause I have a few spare. may as well use one. As far as the YT head goes, I've been looking for the old BATH6000 head but they appear to be rare as rockin' horse shit!
