Very easy. Stereo out, fit expander, stereo back in, done.

Thanks Jason,
as for those trying to be funny.
I just want to know what is involved in fitting a band expander to this particular model, If i wanted to replace it I would, if I wanted a smart arse answer i would have asked my dog.
has anyone done this and if so how hard is it to remove the factory unit to get to fit a band expander. Thanks

When I bought my car they did it for me cost me 80 bucks I think and still has really crap reception. The guy said it was pretty easy but you had to have a special band expander as they have two aerials

I have the expander, got it when i got one for my p11, not sure why they gave me a p12, but when i went to swap it they didnt ask for the p12 one back, so my score i guess, and now i have a use for it, bonus! also have a spare p11 one as i have since upgraded the facotry unit to something much better. not that is hard to get better than a factory head unit

They are far more difficultthan most to fit band expanders to.Have done a few and would say 80 bucks about right. We have had to fit the dearer expanders with boostersas the reception can be a bit so so

i've done a p12 one. was about 4 years ago though so i dont remember a lot of detail.
i do know that i ended up unclipping / removing the front section of center console, and the dvd slot bit.
and it took the normal oddball nissan plugs band expander

obviously this expert has never done one. and has little knowledge.
op as above about eighty dollars if you took it somewhere sometimes can suffer reception issues

Nissan use a stupid aerial plug that is specific to nissan. A standard one wont work.
