I have a 98 Kawa xi super sport 750 and am looking for some info on getting the impeller removed. I have stripped it back to expose the impeller and now face the task of removing the 'short screw-in shaft' from the impeller. it is stuck in there and i cannot get it removed from the splined shaft either so no chance to get it close to a vice whilst still on the ski. any ideas / experience! all appreciated;)

Do you mean the grub screw that locks the impellor to the shaft!

I think we need a pic. My old Kawasaki 750 poleski had a stainless grub screw that locked the impellor to the splines in the shaft. Being stainless into an alloy impellor it was always a pain to remove if it didnt have plenty of antiseize. Alternativly you can remove the whole shaft if you can get the drive coupling off. Just don't damage the shaft seal
