A friend of mine has a 97 l200 2.5 diesel and has just scored a t27 terrano motor for cheap. He seems to think it will bolt straight up. Engine mounts, gearbox and all. exhaust is on oppisite side aswell. Has anyone heard of this being done! Or have any knowledge about this conversion

I cant imagine a Nissan engine into a Mitsubishi body will be a straight bolt up.

Your mate is dreaming it will not bolt in! But at least hes trying to get away from the horrible mitsi motor. You will need the complete conversion to put it in to a L200 like motor, all bolt ons, gearbox, driveshaft yoke and all mounts to make it easyer. You will need to make a custom driveshaft, engine mounts, gearbox mount & exhaust, you will need to plump up power steering(if your using it), sort out suitable radiator hoses, fuel hoses and probably a few other things

There is probably going to be issues with the sump too, depending on what vehicle the TD27 was pulled from and whether the L200 is 2 or 4WD.There is no way in hell that it was all going to just bolt in lol.But it sounds like a good conversion, you are replacing one of the worst small diesel engines of its era with one of the best.

That's OK, the sumps probably change over as well.
