Fiat extending it's life when they put a Chrysler SRT grille on it.

I remember being followed close by a Pesky Multipla on the way back from Nelson about a year ago. however it didn't have the power to match the VR6 on the passing lanes or going up hill :) and yes, I was overtaking other cars and I don't mess around. it was satisfying that it couldn't keep up with me all the same.

Heading to work the other day and it was wet. The Clio is rather tail happy in the rain so I take it a bit easier over the goat track called Dyers Pass. This Multipla caught up to me rather quick and was sitting on my tail for a while, pulled over and let him passed and cryed.

I would have anyway, who wants to see that in their rear view mirror

jasongroves, Dec 16, 3:52am
Thought you were going to say you had been 'car sick'. Lol.

jasongroves, Dec 16, 3:52am
They aint any prettier from the back;)

lookoutas, Dec 16, 4:38am
I wish all nana's would do that

andrea_w, Dec 16, 5:30am
Lets all have a moments silence for sw20, I think he died a little inside.

clark20, Dec 16, 5:55am
Of course it overtook you, they go to 100km in 2.6s and keep going to 300km/hr.

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 5:59am
And the rest. the strange shape is actually to achieve radar stealth and preserve stability as you breach the sound barrier.

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 6:03am
There was some talk of having a Multipla racing team for a while. but it was passed aside as there was nothing else quick enough to provide competition.

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 6:09am
Clearly richardmayes has never wondered how on topgear they pan a camera past the Veyron at 400km/h. Multipla. AND the driver is probably eating a pie and listening to Dire Straits as he/she does so.

It was originally to have the Fiat/Alfa 6 speed gearbox, but given it was to be sold internationally it had to be reduced to a 5 speed in order to protect national security.

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 6:34am
Ever wonder how they accelerate particles to such enormous speeds in the Hadron Collider!

They just strap them in to the back of a Multipla and drive it around the collider with the rear hatch open.

When they take a break they also use it for the "lunch run".

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 6:42am
If you drive without the air conditioning on it becomes so economical that it actually starts to produce diesel.

gracey_lain, Dec 16, 6:50am
MrJazz. get off the messageboards - I need help tidying the boudoir!

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 6:55am
Hmmm it seems duty calls.

bigfatmat1, Dec 16, 7:19am

thejazzpianoma, Dec 16, 7:21am

andrea_w, Dec 16, 8:16am
jazz : wipe that smirk off your face lol, you're enjoying this thread too much!

I found a pic of a Multipla on its way to a racetrack, its even towing a trailer to prove it can tow something! Or its going to race while towing the trailer as a form of handicap.
