Hey mate I saw your post in another thread._I've mucked around wiith quads n go karts for awhile now. Um kinda thought I'd make a couple of suggestions for ya Given you have time on your side I would do thje following. 1)Replace all the wheel bearings. Strip out all the pivot points and mounts for suspension, swingarmand steering and lube them with a quality grease.Whilst at it check the welds around suspension mounts are ok. 2) remove ALL the important wiring bit by bit and replace it with 3mm stuff.Replace the heavy wire for the batteryand the wires to the starter solenoid with decent size stuff-Ie the ones taking the heavy load.Pay special attention to the ignition wiring. Run a new earth strap for the battery.Run exra earth straps. 3) take the starter motor out and check it over. If its all good find a way to make its seal into the engine watertight. I use HMP grease so it doesn't affect removing it if I need to.and insulatethe electrical connection to it. 4) put padding on the horisontal bars alongside the seats,The bars over their headsand the bars above the knees. Use padding on the shoulder straps -prevents bruises 5) THIS is just a personal thing.-If you can --weld and wrap a solid 2-3mm front and sides on the kart. --This stops twigs and tree branches and stuff lancing straight backwards into their feet. -Ohh er um and 6-- If you unbolt the top cage- an adult can JUST fit in the drivers seat and take the 3 year old for a drive :-) have a look at -http://images.trademe.co.nz/p- hotoserver/42/197776742_full.j- pg That was almost finished at that stage
