usually buyer. its only $10 odd hardly worth arguing over. one car sales company on here mentions on its adds that you have to pay for change of ownership.

buyer ALWAYS has the legal responsibility to organise the MR2a and ensure it is taken care of. The SELLLER would be a total idiot if they allowed the vehicle to leave their property un till the Mr2a is completed at the post office etc

I do it online in front of the customer, on the NZTA site. Has cut my traffic tickets down by 95%

yup same, and if they dont have a credit card i just pay the $10, barely worth arguing about, after all you have a wad of cash in your hand from selling your car, no point worrying about $10!

I heard the buyer pays if it's done before 1pm, after 1pm the seller pays.!

Dealers just do it atpurchase time on line , just put in buyers licence # &add $10 to thebill .Stops any comebacks to them .
